PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a semiconductor memory device which is improved in writing/reading speed, memory density, durability, and reliability. SOLUTION: The device is constituted by combining a structure constructed by using the RAID technique with a semiconductor memory device by using a unique method and uses a redundant array of semiconductor memories. The device is provided with a plurality of circuit board assemblies loaded in a housing. It is preferable to put the housing in a computer drive bar or rack-mounted housing having a standard size of 5.25 inches. The circuit board assemblies are electrically connected to semiconductor memory devices, such as flush memory PCMCIA cards 58, 80,.... The interface between a host system and the cards 58, 80,... is made by means of a data route control circuit 102. |
