<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively use the network resources and accordingly to suppress the power consumption in a network environment. SOLUTION: The personal computer controls plural MFDs which can perform the mutual switching between the operation and non-operation modes via a LAN. The processor of the personal computer decides whether the MFD of the transmitting destination of the print data is set in the operation or non- operation mode based on the mode information received from those MFDs (S2). If the MFD of the transmitting destination is set in an operation mode (S2, YES), it is decided whether the MFD discontinues in fact a printing operation (S3). If the MFD discontinues the printing operation (S3, YES), the processor sends the print data to the MFD and the MFD performs the print processing (S4). When this print processing is over, the processor switches the operation mode of the MFD to a non-operation mode (S6).</p> |
