PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical device in which a thermal birefringence effect can be remarkably reduced. SOLUTION: By using a cut crystal (110) for the optical device, de- poralization caused by heat induction birefringence is remarkably reduced without performing any compensation.
