PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mechanized device for separating/selecting insect waste or a carcass and a separation/selection method. SOLUTION: The device for separating/selecting insect waste or a carcass is provided with a hopper 2 for throwing the insect waste; a first guide means 3 constituting a lower part thereof; a second guide means 5 at least a part of which is mesh-like; a first brush member 6 comprising two brushes 6a, 6b, engaged with each other, provided at a downstream side end of the guide means 5; a second brush member 7 engaged with the first brush member 6; a third brush member 8 engaged with the second brush member 7; a first separation plate 9; a second separation plate 10; a third separation plate 11; a first air nozzle means 18; and a second air nozzle means 20.
