PURPOSE: A system and a method for controlling a user interface of a virtual address bar including multiple interactive segments are provided to enable a user to prescribe an address indicating a stored file from multiple file system locations and easily modify the address of the address bar, and suggest alternative selection for navigating file selection to the user. CONSTITUTION: A computing device is equipped with a processor and a memory. A storage device stores contents by connecting to the computing device. A display device displays the virtual address bar(402) by connecting to the computing device. The virtual address bar includes address segments(502-508). Each address segment is matched with a filter for selecting the contents from the contents stored in the storage device. The filter includes a virtual address for selecting the contents to be displayed to the display device.
