<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multi-gradation image display device and its moving picture false contour reduction method for reducing the moving picture false contour while suppressing picture deterioration and for reducing the moving picture false contour for multi-directional movement of the picture when one field is formed by using a plurality of subfields weighed by brightness and the gradation expression is performed. <P>SOLUTION: The multi-gradation image display device is provided with a replacement means (replacement circuit 13) performing replacement processing that replaces only one part of bit signals constituting a picture signal among a plurality of pixels. Thereby, the picture deterioration is suppressed and the moving picture false contour can be reduced. Further, a pixel group of M rows and M columns among pixel groups constituting the picture is rotated in the state of being united, then, the replacement is performed so as to display the picture and the moving picture false contour can be reduced for multi-directional movement of the picture. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
