<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a developing method with which sufficient image density can be kept by stably keeping the pumped amount of toner even when copy processes are repeated for a long period of time, scattering of the toner or contamination on the base can be prevented, and further, an image with high picture quality having excellent graininess of a halftone image can be stably obtained, and a developing device. <P>SOLUTION: The amount M1 of a developer pumped by a developing sleeve 76 and regulated by a doctor blade 78 to reflux, and the amount M2 of the developer passing over the doctor blade 78 (pumped amount) are in the relation of M1/M2<10. The toner is a negative charging toner and contains ≤20% of toner particles having ≥-1 fc/10 μm charges in the charge distribution with respect to the whole toner. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
