摘要 In a method of managing 3D video stream, 3D video stream is output to a connected display. The connected display displays the 3D video stream after a delay associated with the connected display. A timing offset is determined based on the delay. The timing offset is operable to be used to synchronize shutter operations of at least one shutter glasses with the presentation of the 3D video stream. A shutter control signal based on a frame start indication from the 3D video stream is transmitted. The frame start indication is operable to be used to determine a frame rate of the 3D video stream, and the shutter control signal is operable to be used to maintain synchronization of the shutter operations of the at least one shutter glasses with the presentation of the 3D video stream at the connected display.

A method of managing a three-dimensional (3D) video stream, the method comprising: outputting, by a set top box (STB), the 3D video stream in a time sequential format to a connected display, wherein the 3D video stream has a first resolution during a first time and a second resolution during a second time; presenting on the connected display the 3D video stream after a delay associated with the connected display; determining a first timing offset based on the delay based at least in part on a model of the connected display and the first resolution of the 3D video stream; determining a second timing offset based on the delay based at least in part on the model of the connected display and the second resolution of the 3D video stream; transmitting, coincident with the presentation of the 3D video stream, a shutter control signal for the 3D video stream from a device other than the STB and the connected display; determining by the at least one shutter glasses a frame rate of the 3D video stream using the shutter control signal; using the first timing offset and the shutter control signal to synchronize shutter operations of at least one shutter glasses with the presentation of the 3D video stream during the first time; and using the second timing offset and the shutter control signal to synchronize shutter operations of the at least one shutter glasses with the presentation of the 3D video stream during the second time.
