1392837 Sintered dispersion metals or alloys GENERAL ELECTRIC CO 29 Sept 1972 [4 Oct 1971] 45191/72 HeadingC7D. Sintered dispersed metal or alloy bodies are formed by impregnating a porous metal body with a liquid solvent and then impregnating with a liquid solution of the dispersant additive to form a concentration gradient of the dispersant in the porous body. The impregnated body is then sintered. The porous body may be a green compact of W, Cr, Mo or W-Re, the solvent may be water or alcohol and the dispersant solution an aqueous solution of Th(NO 3 ) 4 4H 2 O which decomposes to ThO 2 on sintering. |
