<p>The stabilizer mechanism built into the chimney maintains a constant optimum draught and compensates effects of intermittent burner operation due to varying heat demands or effects of changing outside climatic conditions. The mechanism consists of a damper (3) built into the flue pipe (1) and mounted on a shaft (6) seated in bearings (4). One of the shaft ends is connected via a coupling (8) and pin (7) to the gearbox (9) driven by an electric motor (10). When the heat demand is satisfied, thermostats in the hot water space of the boiler stop the burner and in order not to lose heat due to ensuring natural draught, a control circuit operates the motor which turns the damper into the shut position. On the other hand, if climatic conditions vary so that an increase of draught would follow with a subsequent combustion air surplus ratio increase, the flue flow through the pipe (1) hits the vane (2) fitted perpendicularly to the damper plane and the damper tips from its fully open position into a throttled position, thereby restoring the optimum air surplus ratio.</p> |
