The opener for a screw cap on a jar or bottle is designed to be used with caps of different diameters. It has a stepped hollow interior. The necessary contact pressure is achieved by initial downward pressure of the opener on the cap which effects a locking action on the cap itself. The opener is of simple design and does not have any moving parts thereby rendering it safe for children.
