In the case of a multipole electrical coupling device, the mutual locking of the two coupling halves (3, 4) is carried out with the aid of pins (21), which project outwards on the side walls of the one coupling half (4), and by means of recesses (29), which have two mutually opposite boundary parts (30, 31), which run obliquely and hence form inclined surfaces, and a locking cut-out (32). The recesses (29) are constructed in the side walls of a slide element (22) which can be displaced on the coupling half (3) and is prestressed in the cut-outs (32) by springs, in the sense of locking the pins (21).
