PURPOSE:To automatically inspect the connection between an areally separated power supply and earthing layers so that the inspecting time of a printed circuit board and occurrences of inferior circuit boards can be reduced, by providing a means which recognizes the area of the conductor foil of the power supply and earthing layer. CONSTITUTION:Pattern data inputted from a digitizer 10 through an input section 21 are stored in a pattern data storing section 22. Then the area of a conductor foil separated by means of the pattern data is recognized at an area recognizing section 25. On the other hand, the logical power supply information and arrangement information of parts and the data of information designating the power supply to the area are inputted to a parts logic and arrangement inputting section 26 from a storage device 50. In accordance with the inputted data, the recognized area and the positions of the parts to be connected to the area are compared with each other at a comparator section 27 and whether or not a proper power supply area exists to prescribed parts is inspected. The results of the inspection are outputted to a printing device 60 through an inspected result outputting section 28. Therefore, the inspecting time of a printed circuit board can be reduced and occurrence of an inferior circuit board due to an omission of inspection can be prevented.
