Pivoted arm bandsaw for cut-out work - has arm height from table adjustable to produce part cut through work with bottom of cut parallel to table surface

The sawband is carried in an arm (8) which pivots about an axis (9) parallel to the work supporting surface (14) of the worktable (5). The arm pivot is mounted on a collar (19) which can be moved up and down and clamped on a column (16) fixed to the machine frame. The height of the pivot axis from the table is indicated by a scale (20). For cut-out work the pivot axis height is set to give a straight line cut parallel to the table top at the desired end-of-cut distance X from the base of the workpiece (1). A stop and microswitch (12,13) are used to terminate the cutting cycle. The workpiece and machine are then reset for the second cut. ADVANTAGE - Inexpensive type of machine can be used for cut-out work. Easy to use.
