Device consists of a housing (1) with a central guide for the stud and a ceramic ring (5) for the stud point, which insulates the housing electrically from the stud. A flexible bellows (2) sealed to the upper part of the casing (1) and to the stud (4) permits axial movement of the stud and collects gases produced by welding. The lower opening of the casing (1) is sealed watertight by an electrically nonconducting cover (3) with a central point contact for conducting current from stud to metal base. USE/ADVANTAGE - The claimed invention facilitates under-water stud welding and ensures satisfactory weld quality. The preparation is carried out on land and no additional equipment or operating steps are required by the diver.
