<p>PURPOSE:To obtain a porous nickel electrode plate whose sintering resistance is good and electrode-scale enlargement is easy by manufacturing a sheet by processing wood pulp in which a nickel alloy powder containing an alloy ele ment which forms solid solution with nickel and whose oxide is easily reduced is adsorbed, with a paper machine, then heating it in an oxidizing atmosphere and a reducing atmosphere. CONSTITUTION:A nickel alloy powder containing an alloy element, which forms solid solution with nickel and its oxide is easily reduced, and wood pulp are mixed in the water to produce slurry suitable for making a sheet with a paper machine, and a coagulating agent is added to the slurry to coagulate the powder into the pulp, then a sheet is manufactured with a paper machine. The sheet is heated in an oxidizing atmosphere to burn off the wood pulp, then heated in an oxidizing atmosphere to reduce the metal oxide and to sinter he powder. Thereby, porous electrode plate is obtained. The metal alloy element reduced is Ag, Cu, W, Mo, Co, Fe, and Pd. The alloy element added to nickel improves creep strength with increase in its amount, but decreases conductivity. Therefore, the upper limit of the adding amount is 20%, and the optimum amount is 3-12%.</p> |
