PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide liquid-crystal display (LCD) touch screens that integrate touch sensing elements with display circuitry.SOLUTION: Touch sensing elements can be completely implemented within an LCD stackup but outside, i.e., not between a color filter plate and an array plate. Alternatively, some touch sensing elements can be disposed between the color filter plate and the array plate, with other touch sensing elements disposed not between the plates.
