PURPOSE:To obtain a method for producing L-threonine or L-isoleucine useful as an amino acid formulation or a feed additive in good yield at a low cost. CONSTITUTION:A microorganism, belonging to the genus Escherichia and having the resistance to purine analogs and the ability to produce the objective L- threonine or L-isoleucine is used to produce the L-threonine or L-isoleucine.
