Lifting system for use with axially-symmetrical building

The tower of a tower-crane is situated roughly at the centre of the building to be erected. It may be utilised for lifting equipment such as a platform travelling up and down it. At the same time the crane is used for ordinary hoisting work. The hydraulic climbing mechanism for the tower can be modified to form the lifting equipment. Lateral booms (2) or other fixing devices can be mounted on the equipment, so as to lift components to the desired height and clear of the tower, and they can slew or be extensible.
