PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stably obtain a radiated light quantity and to improve a rising light quantity characteristic at the time of start of copying especially under low temperature environment and to shorten a time required for rising in a light irradiation device for an image forming device using a fluorescent lamp. SOLUTION: In this light irradiation device, a fluorescent lamp is lit at the time of turning on a power source (step S1). In the case of judging that the illuminance of the fluorescent lamp reaches 40000 (lux) (step S2), a current flowing to the fluorescent lamp is made to a minute current to turn off the fluorescent lamp and is switched to filament preheating (step S3). Then, a heater attached to the fluorescent lamp is set to a heat insulating state (step S4). |
