PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To retrieve data from an existing database table and to easily output it by inputting or outputting variable data to the data input/output field of an optional form. SOLUTION: A data item desired to be generated as the data input/output field is selected. Then, data input/output field information is generated by a program 205. Then, a retrieval condition for executing a retrieval to a selected table is set by an operator by permitting data outputted from the table by data input/output field, which is previously generated on a display 201, or inputted by the operator to be a key. A data reference inquiry name is given in order to discriminate the contents of the set retrieval condition. Then, the data input/output field is generated on the display 201 from input/output field information which is generated by the program 205 and set in the attribute of the form by the data reference inquiry name to which data input/output field information is given.
