PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect stably at all times that the ink runs out in an ink tank by forming an ink chamber between an ink-absorbing body for holding the ink in the ink tank and a filter set to an ink take part of the ink tank. SOLUTION: An ink-jet cartridge 1 is constituted of a recording head 10, an ink tank 11 and a lid 12. The ink tank 11 consists of a case 11a molded of an appropriate synthetic resin material. An ink-absorbing body 13 is filled inside the case 11a, and moreover an ink chamber 15 is formed between the ink-absorbing body 13 and a filter 16 set to an ink take part 14 of the ink tank 11. The lid 12 set at an upper part of the ink tank 11 is provided to prevent the ink in the ink tank 11 from evaporating. An air communication opening is formed to the lid 12 to keep the interior of the ink tank 11 at an atmospheric pressure. |
