<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compact easily automated measuring instrument of the concentration of hypochlorous acid capable of stably obtaining an accurate measured value over a long period of time as compared with a conventional measuring instrument without using an expensive noble metal electrode. <P>SOLUTION: The measuring instrument of the concentration of hypochlorous acid is a three-electrode type measuring instrument and equipped with a control part having a control circuit for applying voltage to a detection electrode being a carbon electrode prior to starting measurement so as to electrochemically oxidize and reduce the detection electrode to wash/activate the same or a control circuit for opening the washed/activated detection electrode for a predetermind time to set the same to constant potential and measuring an electrolytic current flowing during a definite period after the elapse of a predetermined time to calculate the concentration of hypochlorous acid from the measured integrated quantity of electricity. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
