1531882 Securing railway rails L GODERBAUER 17 March 1976 [24 March 1975] 10792/76 Heading E1G In a rail fastening wherein a rail flange 6, Fig. 1, is engaged by the two curved free ends of a spring bar clip shaped as a pair of upstanding C-shaped arms spaced along the rail and integrally connected by a horizontal U-loop 8 held in an anchorage passage 4, the free ends 9 lie below an abutment face 15 to limit upward deflection. In Figs. 1-3 the anchorage comprises a sole plate 1 having a ridge 3 cut away to provide a passage 4 having a roof 12 interrupted at 14 for clip insertion. The loop 8 of the clip is arched upwardly at 11 to engage the anchorage roof 12 and bears at 13 on the plate 1. In a modification, Fig. 4 (not shown), the face 15 is replaced by two stepped faces (16, 17) of different height selected by bending the clip arms. In Fig. 5 (not shown) an anchorage member is secured in a concrete sleeper by a depending stem (22) and may have a stop lug (24) in its passage (19). |
