The invention provides a method for mounting a bearing sleeve at a wall portion or similar, and also a sleeve for working the method. A first stiff collar 22 of the sleeve 14 is inserted through a hole 13 in the wall 11 or similar at a sloping position relative to the sides of the walls, following which the sleeve 14 is tilted such that the first collar 22 is brought to bear against the opposite wall side simultaneously with a second stiff collar 21 being brought to bear against the side of the wall from which the sleeve 14 is inserted.
