Doubling and twisting station esp. for tyre cords - draws and twists supply separately doubling in opposite direction

In a process for doubling threads, esp. cords, from at least two supply packages, the threads before doubling, have twist imparted to them, and the doubled thread is then twisted in the opposite direction. Pref. a technology work station is set up for the twisting of at least two spindles without rings, which turn in the same direction, as well as a ring spindle, the direction of rotation of which is opposite to that of the spindles without rings. The supply spindles are arranged on each side of the ring spindle and all three are driven by a common belt which contacts the whorls of the two spindles on one side and that of the centre spindle on the other. The supply package spindles have elastic envelopes as balloon limiters. Combines separate processes into a single operation and brings the working components closer together. Useful for the doubling of tyre cords.
