In an agitator, the stirrer spindle (2) is mounted on one arm (5%) of a two-armed lever. On the other arm (5_) of the two-armed lever, a handle (7) is provided. Arranged on the lever axis (8) of the two-armed lever there is a further arm (9) which extends beyond the edge of the container. Hinged on this arm (9) there is a connecting rod (10) at whose lower end a pedal (14) is arranged. The connecting rod (10) has a hook (12) which is suspended on the edge of the container. <IMAGE>
