The salvage apparatus consists of a buoyancy device which is attached in the vicinity of the keel (8) and is composed of at least two inflatable chambers (4). In the event of salvage, the chambers (4) which are normally lashed together are inflated by means of a pneumatic energy source and bring the damaged submarine to the water surface on account of the buoyancy thus produced. <IMAGE>
