For the height-adjustable fastening of a housing (13) to a rail (2), a fitting piece (10) is provided, which is to be fastened to the rail web. The fitting piece consists of a metal material. In its cross-section, it is designed trapezoidally perpendicularly to the central axis of the rail, the respectively shorter of the two parallel sides bearing against the rail web, while the longer side (3) serves for large-area contact with the housing (13). The fitting piece (10) is fastened rotatably on the rail web via a first stud bolt (11); the housing (13) is fastened detachably on the fitting piece via a second stud bolt (12) which is offset in relation to the first stud bolt. The height adjustment of the housing (13) in relation to the rail foot takes place by loosening the two stud bolts (11, 12), pivoting the fitting piece (10) about the axis of the first stud bolt (11) and retightening the bolts. The device according to the invention serves principally for adapting rail contacts to the circumstances of rails heads which are worn to differing degrees. <IMAGE>
