In a hydraulic continuous valve with a main stage and a hydraulic pilot control stage, in which an actual value for the system pressure is determined via a pressure tap-off and a controller is actuated by means of comparison with a set value, the said controller itself driving an electromechanical transducer as pilot control valve for controlling the pressure to be set in the pilot control stage, the control of the valve is to be independent of influences affecting the amount of fluid flowing through the main stage and the valve is to be made simpler in design and more precise in its control behaviour. For this purpose, it is proposed that the pressure tap-off for determining the actual value should take place (by 17) in the pilot control circuit between pilot control valve (15) and main stage (14). <IMAGE>
