PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle antenna unit and direction estimation system capable of suppressing the influence of reflection, etc. in receiving a signal to be transmitted from a portable terminal and also suppressing a cost to be required in installing an antenna for receiving the signal transmitted from the portable terminal.SOLUTION: A vehicle antenna unit 100 is arranged in the front end part or rear end part of a vehicle, and includes: an antenna board 10 where a first antenna 11 for transmitting/receiving a radar wave to detect a front end object of the vehicle and a second antenna 12 to be operated as an antenna for communicating with a portable terminal, etc.; and a lower case 20 and a radome 30 that play a role as a case for storing the antenna board 10. The antenna board 10 includes electronic components for identifying a distance from an object existing in the irradiation range of a radar wave, a direction, and a relative speed by processing a signal to be transmitted/received by the first antenna 11.
