PURPOSE:To realize a sensor whose detecting output is large, and whose linearity is satisfactory, by using a magnetic material consisting of two concentric circular arcs, coupling both ends of this magnetic material by permanent magnets whose magnetic field directions are the same, and providing a magnetic detecting element between them. CONSTITUTION:Two pieces of circular arcs 10, 11 consisting of a magnetic material are placed concentrically, and on both its ends, permanent magnets 12, 13 whose magnetic field directions are the same are provided, by which a closed magnetic circuit is formed. In this closed magnetic circuit, a magnetic detecting element 18 is placed. The magnetic detecting element 18 is fixed to an armoring case 16, and oscillates together with the facing case. Therefore, the detecting element 18 moves in an air-gap part between the circular arcs 10, 11, crosses a leakage magnetic field in the air-gap and generates an electromotive force. In this case, since the air-gap between the circular arcs 10, 11 has a prescribed width, the linearity of an output characteristic of the detecting element 18 can be improved.
