[Class 132 (ii)] The head of a polo stick is provided on each striking face with a strip of raw hide c arranged longitudinally of the head and secured by glueing or otherwise, a coating of protective material being afterwards applied. In modifications, each striking face is provided with two parallel strips of raw hide either spaced apart or overlapping. The protective coating may be applied by dipping the head in celluloid solution or instead of celluloid an external coating of vellum or raw hide may be applied. The head may be made of bamboo or sycamore.</p> |
