The invention concerns a resonator design comprising a helical resonator 1 wound from metal wire into a cylindrical spiral winding and supported by a plate 2 of insulating material arranged in between. A helical resonator usually has the shape of a cylindrical spiral winding and is supported by arranging inside the winding a frame produced from ceramic material or plastic in various ways. This is necessary to produce a sufficient mechanical strength. Such a construction, however, is complicated and costly to make in mass production, especially with small resonator sizes. These problems are solved according to the invention in that at least one part of the insulating plate 2 comprises an electrical circuit formed from flat tracks 3, and the helical resonator 1 is electrically connected to the circuit. <IMAGE>
