The decorative subject consists of a sheet 1 of metallised plastic film in which, beginning in its centre, a plurality of radial strips 3 are cut. A stem 4 with a stop piece 6 at its end is inserted through the centre of the sheet 1. An end piece 7 is also fitted onto the stem 4 and the flared part 8 of this end piece presses the base of the strips 3 against a projecting part of the stem 4. This lifts up the strips 3 and the shorter strips remain erect while the longer strips droop down owing to their own weight, so creating an impression of volume. The subjects made in this way are particularly applicable to the decoration of ice creams, cakes and other desserts. <IMAGE>
