发明名称 Method for eliminating radon problems in already existing houses
摘要 The invention concerns a method for eliminating radon problems in already constructed houses. Radon is a radioactive gas which is emitted from the soil and which is formed when uranium breaks down. The problem is that the radon encroaches into the living areas of the house through untight seals in the floor space. It has been found that radon gas is implicated in the development of lung cancer. In the solution according to the invention, the radon problem in already constructed houses is eliminated by establishing an outlet route for the gas from underneath the house's floor space by drilling one or more holes 3 in the filling earth 2 though/under the base 1. A screen pipe is placed in these holes 3, either in conjunction with the drilling or afterwards. In certain cases, the screen tube can be omitted. In the hole 3 in question, a partial vacuum is generated by means of the natural pressure difference or mechanically, and the untight seals in the floor space can now function as holes for replacement air or else they can be closed off. <IMAGE>
