Device making it possible for the user rapidly and in a non-restricting way to determine, using a nail of his fingers, the date of opening of a product. This device is a calendar which includes a first ink-based printing of the days, months, years or minutes, hours, days, months, years. This first printing is covered by a second identical printing which, however, is produced using an agent which can be scratched off. The above two printings will preferably be of different colours so as to highlight the date corresponding to the opening of the package. This device can also take the form of a single printing but, in this case, its use will require the use of a pencil which thus removes the rapid, practical and non-restricting characteristic of the present device in its 3-layer form. The device is intended for industry in general and more particularly for the food and pharmaceutical industry. <IMAGE>
