Package positioning procedure for automatic packaging machine, used e.g. for packing ready-to-use cameras

The procedure consists of taking a folded package from the bottom of a stack (30) by means of a suction tool (10) on an arm (13) and opening the package (24) as it is moved towards a conveyor (20). The package arrives at the conveyor with a movement which is perpendicular to the plane of the conveyor, passing a mechanism (17) on the way which opens it out. On arrival at the conveyor the package passes beneath guides (14) which hold it open for filling. The arm (13) carrying the suction tool turns about a pivot (16) lying in the plane of the conveyor and perpendicular drive members (11, 12), and the mechanism (17) which opens the package consists of a shoe with a curved portion to interact with the rear face of the package.
