The rotating pallet bait for carnivorous fish comprises a rigid shaft (2) at the end of which is a loop (4). A pallet (5) has one end pivoted on the shaft so that, as it is pulled by the loop through the water, it can rotate about the shaft under the effect of water resistance. A cleat (10), whose length is equal to half the length (L) of the shaft has a loop (11,12) at each end. A fishing line (13) is fixed in one of the loops (12). The other loop (11) engages in the loop (4) at the front end of the shaft to form a loose pivot, as two links of a chain engaged in each other. A lead (14) supported by the cleat is located between the two end loops.
