Systemic treatment of plants with active agent

A method is proposed for applying a layered slow-release deposit of an active substance to plants or parts of plants. The layered deposit comprises at least one adhesive matrix layer (A) containing the active substance and in surface contact with the plant surface, and a backing layer (B) essentially free of and permeable to the active substance and facing away from the plant. The proposed method is characterised in that the layer (A) is painted onto the plant at the application site in a desired pattern and consists of a brush-on adhesive polymer-based composition containing the active substance. The layer (B) is then painted or sprayed onto the first layer.
