摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide seawater intake equipment for an atomic power plant installed inland in which civil engineering materials can be reduced and a rational intake means can be established without decreasing the same functions and capacity with conventional cases. SOLUTION: Ground is excavated from the underside of an intake tank 3 installed inland 1 to the offshore place of a sea area 2 below 7 in the tsunami level to form an intake tunnel. An intake tower is installed at the front end of the intake tunnel. In this case, a conventional long unified intake tunnel is constituted of a common intake tunnel 11 and an emergency intake tunnel 12, and the emergency intake tunnel is connected to the front end of the common intake tunnel. A common intake tower 13 reaching an average low tidal level (L. W. L) is attached to the common intake tunnel 11, and an emergency intake tower 14 reaching at most the tunami level 7 is attached to the emergency intake tunnel 12. The diameter of the emergency intake tunnel 12 is made smaller than that of the common intake tunnel 11.
