PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lift damper for a needle valve for obtaining stable damping effect constantly. SOLUTION: This lift damper for a needle valve 36; provided for damping the lift of the valve 36 on an injector 8b, for relieving fuel pressure in a pressure control chamber 37 for lifting the valve 36; is equipped with a cover member 62 slidably mounted on the valve 36, a damping chamber 63 formed between a cover member 62 and the valve 36 to be filled with fuel, a leak passage 64 for restricting fuel in the chamber 63 to be leaked outside the chamber 63, and a stopper member 65 arranged in the upper part of the member 62 to limit the rising position of the member 62.
