<p>Exercise machine having a frame (11) with a pair of upstanding sections (13,14) disposed substantially at right angles to each other, a weight stack (31) mounted on each of the frame sections (13,14), a cable (49) coupled to each of the weight stacks (31) for transferring a pull on the cable (49)to the weights in the stack, a pulley block (42) through which the cable is pulled, a leg (26) connected to each of the frame sections (13,14) for movement between a supporting position and a storage position, interlock means engagable between the legs (26) and respective ones of the weight stacks (31) for preventing the weights from being raised when the legs (26) are in the storage position, a bench which is removably connected to the frame (11) and can be folded up between the two frame sections (13,14) for storage, a carriage (43) mounted on each of the frame sections (13,14) and adapted to be positioned at different heights, and means mounting one of the pulley blocks (42) on each of the carriages (43) such that each of the pulley blocks (42) is free to pivot about two axes of rotation so that the pulley block (42) can follow the cable (49) and remain aligned with the cable (49) regardless of the direction in which the cable (42) is pulled. <IMAGE></p> |
