PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide glass having a composition substantially containing no PbO and suitable for the glass tube for a fluorescent lamp. SOLUTION: The glass has the composition of, by mass %, 70 to 80% SiO2, 1 to 10% Al2O3, 10 to 25% B2O3, 3 to 10% Li2O+Na2O+K2O, 0 to 3% WO3, 0.05 to 2% Sb2O3, 0 to 3% Nb2O5, 0 to 5% Bi2O3, 0 to 3% CeO2 and 0.001 to 0.05% Fe2O3.
