PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a connector with a locking mechanism having a simple structure with an enhanced good click feeling, and a button for releasing the lock. SOLUTION: A surface switch 7 is provided to the central part of the upper surface of a housing 2a. While a cover 10 is mounted, the central part of the rear surface of a button unit 10a is in proximity of a head 7c of the surface switch 7, and its both ends are in proximity of a protrusion 9a of an engagement part 9. When pressing the button unit 10a, the central part of the rear surface of the button unit 10a is pressed against the head 7c of the surface switch 7, elastically deforming and flattening the surface switch 7. At this point, an operator can feel a click. At the same time, the both ends of the rear surface of the button unit 10a press the protrusion 9a, and a claw 9b, which works with the protrusion 3a, is also pressed down. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
