PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pump device and a radioactive material storage system that can reliably transfer liquid in a radiation environment inside a storage tank, etc. and that restrains the release of a radioactive material to the outside.SOLUTION: A pump device 20a comprises: a cylinder 24 including an internal space; a piston 23 that partitions the internal space of the cylinder 24 into a first chamber 21 and a second chamber 22, and that moves in the internal space; a capsule 25 including an internal space communicating with the second chamber 22; a first backflow prevention device 31 that passes liquid in a direction from the outside of the capsule 25 toward the inside; and a second backflow prevention device 32 that passes the liquid in a direction from the inside of the capsule 25 toward the outside.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
