PURPOSE:To obtain a Pb-Sn alloy with superior suitability to plating by regeneration by adding one or more among Te, P and As to a Pb-Sn alloy contg. a specified amount of Sn to remove impurities contained in the alloy. CONSTITUTION:One or more among 0.002-0.4% Te, 0.002-0.4% P and 0.03- 0.5% As are added to a Pb-Sn alloy contg. 0.3-65% Sn, and the alloy is melted by heating to react impurities such as Cu and Fe contained in the alloy with the added elements and to remove the impurities. Thus, the Pb-Sn alloy is regenerated. The regenerated alloy shows an improved wettability during plating, gives a film with improved smoothness by plating, and has improved suitability to plating for providing oxidation inhibiting power. |
