PURPOSE:To reduce the number of parts and improve economy and operability by using a magnetic approach switch having a built-in permanent magnet as one operated by the magnetic property of a welding wire for detecting the reduction of residue of welding wire. CONSTITUTION:A reel 6 around which a welding wire 7 is wound is rotatably mounted on a frame 1, while a mounting plate 2 having an insulating plate 3 mounted on the end is pivotably mounted. A magnetic approach switch 11 having a built-in permanent magnet is mounted on a mounting plate 12 which is secured fixedly to the insulating plate 3. And said switch 11 is connected to a control unit 13, and turned on upon detecting the magnetic property of the welding wire 7. Thus, as the residual of the welding wire 7 wound around the reel 6 is reduced, said switch 11 is turned off so that a signal is sent to the control unit 13 to indicate the small residual of the wire. |
