摘要

PURPOSE:To reduce rate of contraction by hardening and to improve characteristics of transmission loss at low temp. by using a mixture of an epoxy acrylate resin and/or urethane acrylate resin with an ultraviolet ray setting silicone resin for coating resin of optical fiber. CONSTITUTION:A resin compsn. comprising a mixture of epoxy acrylate resin and/or urethane acrylate resin with an ultraviolet ray setting silicone resin is used as UV resin. The coating (clad) is formed as clad layer 2 around the optical fiber 1, and the clad formed by the resin compsn. is preferred to have 0.1-100kg/mm<2> Young's modulus. The change of Young's modulus of the resin compsn. can be kept low by mixing as described above an ultraviolet ray setting silicone resin. The rate of contraction by hardening is reduced by the use of the ultraviolet ray setting silicone resin.
