PURPOSE:To generate a stable air bubble, in a bubble jet type liquid jet recording head, by forming a heat energy generating means for generating the air bubble on a substrate having at least a double-layer structure and specifying the heat conductivity ratio of two layers constituting the substrate. CONSTITUTION:A heat generator 12, electrodes 13, 14 and a protective film 15 are formed on a substrate 11 consisting of layers (a), (b). Immediately after a pulse signal is applied to the heat generator 12, the layer (a) gives heat toward a recording liquid as much as possible to instantaneously generate an air bubble. Immediately thereafter, the heat of the layer (a) is conducted to the layer (b) and the air bubble generating part is desirably cooled instantaneously. That is, when the heat conductivity of the layer (a) is set to A and that of the layer (b) is set to B, good emitting capacity is obtained when a condition of 5<=B/A is satisfied and, further, it is desirable to set 8<=B/A. As a material satisfying this condition, for example, a metal material such as Zn or Al, a ceramics material such as alumina or a semiconductive material such as Si or Ge is pref. as the layer (b).
